Do We Enjoy Sickness?
As the cold weather sets in, I've noticed that fewer people are taking steps to ward off the usual seasonal colds. Why is that? I recall my childhood, eager to play in the snow despite a runny nose. My mom would always stop me with warnings of getting sick, and it worked?"I rarely fell ill.
Nowadays, preventing illness seems less of a priority. Many of us rely on the abundance of available medicines to cure whatever ailment we catch. This reliance proved true when a friend contracted Winter Vomiting Disease last year?"a condition that sounds daunting but typically resolves within 24 to 36 hours, involving symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea. Not so bad, it seems.
But why do we allow ourselves to reach the point of illness every year? Even though there are usually remedies, we still endure uncomfortable periods when we catch a virus. Do we enjoy it? Hardly! I suspect we've merely forgotten how unpleasant it was the year before.
This season, let's aim to stay healthy. Prioritize nutritious foods and get enough rest. In today's fast-paced world, we often feel overwhelmed by our responsibilities. Remember to relax! Pushing ourselves to the point of exhaustion isn’t productive. Embrace the winter and strive to remain cold-free.
