Lemon Thyme Pita Chips
Overview
Lemon Thyme Pita Chips are a delightful twist on traditional chips and dip. Perfect as an appetizer, these chips shine when paired with Provencal Artichoke Dip or Peppercorn Ranch Dip. Whether you prepare them in advance or serve them warm, the flavor is unforgettable.
Freshness Matters
Using fresh ingredients can elevate your cooking. While it may take a bit more time, the vibrant taste is worth the effort. Freshly picked thyme and squeezed lemon juice truly enhance the flavor, making these chips irresistible.
Ingredients
- 4 plain pita bread rounds
- 4 Tbsp unsalted butter (melted) or olive oil
- 1 Tbsp minced lemon zest
- 2 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp minced fresh thyme leaves
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 325°F (163°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. Prepare Pita: Split each pita round into two to make full circles.
3. Mix Ingredients: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter or olive oil, lemon zest, lemon juice, thyme, sea salt, and black pepper.
4. Assemble Chips: Brush the mixture onto the inside of the pita rounds. Cut each round into 8 wedges, like pizza slices. Arrange them in a single layer on the baking sheets.
5. Bake: Cook for 10 to 15 minutes until they are crisp and golden brown.
6. Cool and Store: Remove from the oven and let cool. Store in an airtight container or serve slightly warm.

Makes approximately 64 chips.
