Where Is Your Money Going?
Summary
Lately, I've been reflecting on where my money goes and who benefits from the blessings God has given my family. When I make purchases or investments, I want to ensure that they align with advancing God’s Kingdom.
As Christians, it's crucial for us to consider this. Often, we focus on finding the cheapest prices or making the safest long-term investments without considering the broader impact.
We are stewards of God’s resources during our time on earth. As Haggai 2:8 states, "The silver is mine and the gold is mine, declares the Lord Almighty." With this understanding, we should use our resources in ways that honor God.
How to Be Better Stewards of God’s Resources
1. Buy Locally: Supporting local retailers allows you to understand the values of the business owners.
2. Research Before Big Purchases: For significant items, such as cars, investigate what the company stands for and how they treat their employees.
3. Wise Investments: Look into the companies you invest in, especially those overseas, to ensure they reflect your values.
4. Invest Locally: Similar to buying locally, investing in nearby businesses supports the community.
5. Support Christian Businesses: When possible, choose businesses owned by fellow Christians. Consider investing in ventures started by those in your church, knowing there’s no risk when God is involved.
6. Prioritize Giving: Generosity is paramount. Give from the abundance God has provided and witness His blessings. I've never heard anyone regret giving more to God; it leads to unexpected blessings.
Don’t be complacent. Seek God’s guidance on where to spend, invest, and give. Trust Him to lead you.
