My Journey to Scottsdale

When I decided to move to Scottsdale over a decade ago, my friends were skeptical. They often questioned why I would choose to live in the desert. Many assumed Scottsdale was just about golf, lacking culture and fine dining options.

Since then, Scottsdale and the greater Phoenix area have transformed significantly. A new highway system now connects the entire valley, and the light rail project has been successfully completed. Beyond the stunning golf courses and luxurious shopping, Scottsdale offers endless outdoor activities like hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, and backpacking. Our resorts and spas, renowned for years, continue to thrive and expand.

Despite the initial doubts and criticism about my desert adventure, I was determined to leave the challenges of Los Angeles behind?"such as earthquakes, fires, and floods?"and embrace a new lifestyle.

Scottsdale beautifully blends an outdoor lifestyle with a cosmopolitan feel, offering upscale living and entertainment options, including theater. While most associate live theater with New York and L.A., Off-Broadway productions are thriving here with venues like ASU's Gammage Auditorium and Herberger Theater. The Valley hosts numerous concerts at Dodge and Celebrity Theaters, as well as large venues like the Cricket Pavilion and U.S. Airways Arena.

Unlike Las Vegas, our local nightlife and casinos provide a more convenient yet equally exciting alternative. The vibrant dining scene includes fabulous standalone restaurants such as Eddie V's and Mary Elaine's, along with upscale chains like Roy’s and Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. Every major restaurant chain has found its way to the Valley, catering to the diverse tastes of a rapidly growing population that includes many affluent residents.

Looking back, the decision to leave L.A. for Scottsdale has been immensely rewarding. The quality of life here is exceptional, and whatever you're seeking?"be it entertainment, outdoor adventures, or fine dining?"you can find it in the Valley of the Sun.
