If you're planning a move, the easiest way to update your address is through the Postal Service's website at usps.com. You can also change your address by calling 1-800-ASK-USPS or using the Mover's Guide available at Post Offices.
Keeping Up with Catalogs
In addition to updating your address for letters and bills, many people want to continue receiving their favorite catalogs. The Postal Service offers a Catalog Request Card Service online alongside the Change of Address form. After filling out the Internet Change of Address form, you can choose which retail catalogs you'd like to continue receiving, or opt for "No Thanks."
Since the program started last fall, on average, people have chosen to receive six catalogs, many of which they did not receive before. This trend highlights the growing popularity of shopping via mail.
Catalog Sales and Trends
The Direct Marketing Association predicts that print catalog sales will rise to $158 billion in 2009, up from $152 billion this year. Notably, about six in ten catalog shoppers hold onto a catalog for at least three months after ordering.
"We're offering this service so that people can have quick access to their favorite catalogs, helping them organize their homes conveniently," explained Charlie Bravo, Senior Vice President for Intelligent Mail and Address Quality.
