Reflections of a Trader
I've always had a passion for trading. My fascination began at the age of eight when I first learned about the stock market. Although I can't recall exactly how it started, I vividly remember my endless questions to my uncle. He may have been the one who introduced me to this world, explaining how to read stock prices from the newspaper?"back then, the internet wasn't an option.
I must have left an impression, as my uncle gifted me my very first share of stock in Mead Paper Company for my ninth birthday. He explained that owning this share meant I possessed a tiny piece of the company. That sparked a lifelong fire in me.
Unfortunately, my uncle passed away in 1988 at just 37. By then, I was 18, and we hadn't discussed the markets for a few years due to his frequent moves and declining health. I once thought his knowledge of the stock market was limitless. Reflecting now, I realize that wasn't entirely true, but his dreams live on through me. I'm grateful he took the time to share them.
Today, I trade E-minis and currencies. For many, including myself, it’s the best job in the world. While I haven’t reached the heights of Peter Lynch or Warren Buffett, I'm certainly as invested in the process as ever.
What's changed is my desire to introduce others to the world of trading. Perhaps this was my uncle's real passion?"not just trading itself, but the sharing of knowledge. That legacy of enthusiasm is what drives me now.
