Overview
Since 1998, The Bell Collection by Jewelry John has been crafting exquisite bells from Sterling Silver, along with custom pieces in 14K gold. Each bell is meticulously designed, cast, assembled, and finished to perfection, ensuring heirloom quality.
Craftsmanship Process
Every bell is crafted in Austin, Texas, using the time-honored lost wax method. This intricate process begins with creating a rubber mold from an original wax design. Wax replicas of each component?"body, bail, and clapper?"are then crafted and attached to a wax tree.
Next, a heat-resistant plaster known as investment is poured around the wax tree in a rubber cup to form a mold. Once hardened, the mold is placed in a kiln at 1350°F, which vaporizes the wax, leaving behind a pristine plaster mold for the silver. Molten silver is then poured into the mold to create the bells. After casting, each component is carefully removed and assembled by hand, followed by a final polishing before reaching our retailers.
