Backgammon is traditionally played with two players using one board and 15 chips each. The goal is to move all your chips into your home board and then into your winning pile. The first to clear their chips from the board wins. The board is split into four quadrants, each with six points. Your home board is directly in front of you, and moving clockwise, you pass the bar into the outer board, followed by your opponent's home board. Chips can move onto any colored points regardless of their own color.

At the start, each player places five pieces at the first point in their home board nearest the bar. Playing the Game
Dice rolls determine how many points a player can move. For example, rolling a five and a four allows you to move a total of nine points. You can split these movements between two chips. Both dice rolls must be used if possible, but chips cannot land on occupied spaces. Rolling doubles grants you extra moves; for instance, double sixes allow you to move four pieces six points each. Should a single chip get landed on by an opponent’s, it returns to the center bar and must restart from the opposite side of the board. The game is won by the first player to move all their chips to safety.
