Living in today’s fast-paced world of smartphones, laptops, and high-tech gadgets is not only hectic but also impersonal. We earn money and then spend our time striving for more. Does it ever end? Not usually, because we’re rarely satisfied. How often have we thought that just a bit more money would make life perfect? Yet, after a raise, we find ourselves wanting even more.
What Should You Do?
I've read numerous books, like Robin Sharma's works, suggesting that money isn’t necessary. But is it possible to live without it? I know I can't.
Seeking a deeper understanding, I visited my neighborhood Rabbi for advice on finding my true path in life.
He nodded and took me to the window. “What do you see?” he asked.
I replied, “I see people walking, and a blind man begging on the corner.”
The Rabbi then led me to a large mirror. “Now, what do you see?”
“I see myself,” I answered.
He smiled, “Now you can’t see anyone else. Both the mirror and the window are made from glass, but the mirror has a thin layer of silver coated on it. This layer makes you see only your reflection.”

Reflecting on his words, I realized he made a profound point. Yes, we need money, and living without it isn’t practical; it would only lead to hardships.
Instead, we should heed the Rabbi’s wisdom. When life is viewed through a silver layer, all we see is ourselves. Remove it, and you can see and empathize with everyone else.
