Recently, I had the pleasure of interviewing a fellow vinyl enthusiast, Steve Robertson, a 19-year-old from Campbell River, British Columbia. Steve kindly shared his thoughts on why this timeless format still holds a special place in his heart.

DJing, according to Steve, is about creating seamless, intriguing musical journeys that keep people engaged.
The Vinyl Revival
He believes that vinyl is making a comeback, especially in his area. If given the choice, Steve and his friends would always opt for records. However, access can be challenging, with the nearest vinyl shop an hour and a half away, prompting them to make most purchases online.
A Collector's Passion
Steve's collection boasts over 300 records, primarily classic rock like Led Zeppelin and Heart, along with about 75 electronic dance records for DJing. For Steve, mixing records is akin to playing an instrument. The ability to manipulate sounds, blend tracks, and add effects is a form of creative expression, akin to live production.
