Review: Rainbow Six Vegas
Summary
Every once in a while, a game comes along that changes the way you feel about gaming. For me, that game was Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas. Although it's the latest in Tom Clancy’s long-running series, it was my first experience with it, and it didn’t disappoint.
First Impressions
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started Rainbow Six Vegas. However, after spending a few hours getting used to the cover system, it became clear that this game surpassed any first-person shooter I’d played before. It’s far from the typical run-and-gun style. Instead, it requires strategic thinking and tactical decision-making. Charging blindly into battle won't get you far here.
Gameplay
Rainbow Six Vegas is a squad-based shooter that truly emphasizes teamwork. Unlike other games where AI teammates simply tag along, here you'll need to rely on them to succeed. The single-player campaign is engaging and challenging, but the game really shines in its online cooperative modes.
Online, you'll feel like part of a special forces unit, working closely with other players and coordinating plans to complete missions. Success online allows you to rise through the ranks, unlocking new armor and weaponry tailored for multiplayer action.
Graphics and Final Thoughts
While the graphics might not be as polished as Gears of War, the overall experience is superior. I wholeheartedly give Rainbow Six Vegas a 10 out of 10?"a must-have title for the Xbox 360.
