The Walt Disney Company, now a global powerhouse, began as a modest animation studio. Founded by brothers Walt and Roy Disney on October 16, 1923, in their grandfather's garage, the company saw exponential growth, reaching $34.3 billion in revenues by 2006.
The Disney brothers' initial project, a series titled Alice’s Wonderland, paved the way for their studio. By 1925, Walt persuaded Roy to rename the venture Walt Disney Studios. Following various successes and setbacks, the debut of the iconic Mickey Mouse in Plane Crazy and Steamboat Willie in 1928 marked a turning point.
