Are you ready to become a star? A new contest offers jingle singers the chance to shine across the nation. From now until September 4, 2006, the iconic Oscar Mayer Wienermobile will travel coast-to-coast seeking talented vocalists to participate in the "Sing the Jingle, Be a Star" competition. Aspiring performers can sing their own version of the Oscar Mayer Wiener Jingle, the Bologna Song, or the Oscar Mayer Spanish Jingle for a shot at fame.

Country music star Julie Roberts is rallying emerging talent to join in. "Singing has been my passion since childhood, so partnering with Oscar Mayer to support this contest is a thrill," said Roberts. "It’s a fun way for everyone to showcase their vocal talents and unique style."
As the Wienermobiles make their nationwide journey, the Hotdoggers?"the official drivers?"will stop at various events to film performances from fans of all ages (6 and up). Whether you're rapping or singing with a country twist, hot dog and bologna enthusiasts are encouraged to put their own spin on one of the classic jingles. Five lucky winners will earn the chance to feature in a national television commercial.
For mail entries, submit a VHS or DVD (no longer than one minute) with an official entry form available at singthejingle.com. Ensure your entries are received by August 21, 2006, and send them to Sing the Jingle Entries, P.O. Box 5652, Blair, NE 68009-5652.
Five Lucky Stars
Twenty finalists?"16 from English and four from Spanish performances?"will be showcased online from October 26 to November 27, 2006. During this period, fans can vote for their favorite by visiting singthejingle.com or find additional voting details via cell phone, ballot, or mail. Public votes, alongside a panel of judges, will narrow the finalists to five grand-prize winners (four English, one Spanish). These winners will have the exciting opportunity to star in an Oscar Mayer commercial. Judging criteria will include overall performance, style, creativity, and suitability for the commercial.
