The Story’s Genesis
Neil Gaiman shared the intriguing origin of "Stardust": "It began in 1991 when Charles and I received the World Fantasy Award for Sandman 19: A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Astonishingly, our win prompted the judges to change the rules. That evening, while at a party hosted by Terry Windling in the Tucson desert, I witnessed a spectacular falling star. It inspired the story: 'What if that star was a girl with a broken leg and a fierce temper, unwilling to be hauled across the globe?'"
Creative Journey
Gaiman discussed the creative process: "In '93, Charles created several paintings as a presentation for publishers. The story was eventually published in '98, and then in '99, we released it without the illustrations due to some overlooked rights. The rest is history."
"Stardust" weaves a spellbinding tale of adventure, danger, and love, making it a timeless cinematic experience.
