In the latest installment of Big Brother 7, we introduce you to four of the seven men who are stepping away from the World Cup this summer to immerse themselves in the UK’s most intense reality show for 13 weeks.
Pete Bennett
- Age: 24

- Occupation: Unemployed
Pete is a budding rock ‘n’ roll singer and cartoonist, now residing in Brighton. Diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome at 14, Pete began wearing women’s clothes at 16 and even impersonated Freddie Mercury at his mother’s wedding. He decided to join Big Brother "to reach the top of my spiral to heaven and shine again," as well as to potentially win money to pay off his mum’s mortgage. Craving fame, Pete wants to be recognized as a "famous Touretter." He shares his home with a pet hamster, Magic, who enjoys free reign of the house, even living in the walls.
Shabaz Chaudry
- Age: 37
- From: Glasgow
- Occupation: Unemployed
Shabaz, single and describing himself as "unemployable" for the last 21 years, has dedicated much of his time to voluntary care for the disabled and those with special needs. He’s never experienced love or a relationship, attributing this to others’ fear of his flamboyant personality. By joining Big Brother, Shabaz hopes to experience living with others as he has lived alone for the past 21 years. He expresses a phobia of "straight-acting homophobic homosexuals" and dreams of being reincarnated as a woman to experience motherhood.
Richard Newman
- Age: 33
- From: Canada
- Occupation: Waiter
Richard, currently single and living in London, describes himself as a "sexual, passionate, and hostile man hunter." Enjoying nightlife in Soho along with dinner parties and theater, he’s straightforward about his reason for participating in Big Brother: "just for the money." He has a fear of encountering a heavily pregnant woman in the house and dreads being interviewed by Davina McCall. Richard is particularly angered by sexism, racism, and unresponsive men, wishing to legislate that all straight men have a homosexual experience.
Glyn Wise
- Age: 18
- From: Blaenau Ffestiniog
- Occupation: Part-time lifeguard/Head boy in 6th Form
As the youngest contestant, Glyn is eager for national attention and excited to showcase his "sexy body to millions." Proud of his Welsh heritage, he believes all Welsh people should speak the language and hopes to become the first male Page 3 model. Content with himself, Glyn wishes to be reincarnated as himself, seeing himself as "the closest example to perfection." However, he admits to a mutual dislike with the animal kingdom, stating, "I hate all animals and they hate me."
These contestants are ready to leave the familiar behind and embark on an unforgettable journey inside the Big Brother house.
